Courts seem to have forgotten basic principle of grant or refusal of bail, says former Supreme Court judge Madan Lokur

Former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B Lokur has criticized the judiciary's unwillingness to grant bail and its failure to see through the tactics used by probe agencies to keep accused individuals in jail. Justice Lokur stated that the courts have forgotten the basic principles of bail and highlighted the issue of incomplete chargesheets and withheld documents. He also expressed concern over the trend of corruption cases being lodged against political adversaries and the dropping of investigations if suspects change loyalties.
